Q

According to Vingren et al 2010 - what is the major promoter of muscle growth and strength in RT for men

A

Q

What did West et al 2010 expect to find in a study training biceps alone vs biceps + legs

A

Exercises large muscles first to increase test and GH levels. Biceps training in an environment where muscle was bathed in these hormones.
- Assume PS would be higher in biceps + legs group

Q

What did West et al 2010 find in a study training biceps alone vs biceps + legs

A

Despite bicep being in and increased hormone concentration in biceps + legs group, PS rates didn’t vary between groups. Only acutely.

Q

What is the relationship between exercise-induced changes in MPS between men and women, in relation to test levels?

A

Women have 10-15 fold lower test conc than men, do not experience sig. elevations in post-exercise test when compared with men.
However, exercise-induced changes in MPS are = in men and women, despite ~45 fold difference in exercise induced testosteronemia.
