How does Rose know where she belongs?
Rose knows where she belongs, because she realizes that the past isn’t for her. She sees the big train station, knows the name, but realizes that it is completely different. This is not the time period she was meant to be in. She faints in the train station, which shows her frustration.

What is the main conflict in this story?
The main conflict in this story is man versus self. Rose has two sides to her, and she doesn’t know which one is really her. She changes her behavior depending on where she is. She doesn’t know who to be.
Who helps Rose understand where she belongs?
Rose is helped by Sam. Sam shows her that he likes her, but it is tough for other people to like her. He tells her why, when they meet as she is playing Will’s song.
Why does Rose feel like she belongs in the past?
Rose doesn’t want to live with the Henrys, in the beginning. She fits in more in Susan’s and Will’s time, where she feels accepted. At the Henrys, everyone felt sorry for her, and Sam hates her. She has no friends at school. It is better to stay with people that are her friends.
Who is Mrs. Morrissay?
Mrs. Morrissay is the wife of Will Morrissay, otherwise known as, Susan. When Rose first comes to the Henrys, Susan is still alive, and she can shift. She shows Rose who she is, when she helps Rose make a giant Christmas dinner, showing that she knows her kitchen.
