What are the two types of Buddhist
- sangha (monks and nuns)
- lay buddhists (people who have jobs and are buddhist)
What do monks or nuns do
They try to be the best Buddhist they can be. They don’t have a job but instead they meditate and read the pali canon. They teach the lay Buddhists. They do chanting. They do all this to bring more Buddhists to become better ones.
What do lay Buddhists do for the monks and nuns
They provide food for them
What do the monks and nuns do for the lay buddhists
They give them sermons and make them better Buddhists like themselves
How many items can monks or nuns carry and what items
Six items: a robe, a bowl, a belt, a sowing kit, a razor and soap + all the usual assential things like clothes
How many meals do monks or nuns have and when
Only one before noon
What kind of lives do lay Buddhists live
Normal lives but they help the monks and nuns
There are 5 moral precepts for the lay Buddhists, what are they
Don’t take life, don’t steal, don’t lie or gossip, no sexual misconduct, no drugs or alcohol.
Do you think it is better to be a lay Buddhist or apart of a sangha and why
A lay buddhist has more freedom to do whatever they want but for a monk or nun, they have specific rules

It is instructions for the monks or nuns
