Q

What does the laborers at the vineyard parable teach about the kingdom of God?(4)

A
  • Just as alluded by the parable during harvest time people would wait by the market seeking for work to do and they would be hired at different times, in the kingdom of God you are all equal regardless of the time you got to know of the word or became a Christian and that it is a privilege to come early into the church
  • It was not only in regards to seniority but also the issue of the Jews and Gentiles, in the eyes of God there were all equal
  • They all arrived at different times and work for different periods of time but they are given the same pay showing that to God it is not about the amount of service given but rather the love and what little we have to offer
  • We can not earn what God has given us, it is simply grace
