The Water Cycle Flashcards
Why is water important ?
For provided survival and grow for plants and animals (allows life to live, with fresh water).
Describe what happens during
evaporation.
Water evaporates constantly from the surface if the land and the rivers, lakes and oceans of the world. This occurs when the Earth’s surface is heated from the Sun, cause the water (liquid) to evaporate into water vapour (gas).
Describe what happens during
condensation.
When moist air rises it begins to cool. As it cools the water vapour then begins to condense into liquid water droplets, forming clouds.
Describe what happens during
precipitation.
As water droplets in clouds become heavier they fall as rain, snow, or hail.
Describe what happens during
transpiration and respiration.
Transpiration and respiration, is where the water vapour from plants and animals are lost, and move directly to the atmosphere.
Describe what happens during
percolation.
This is where water trickles through the gaps in the soil and rocks (under the ground),
