Describe the plantar fascia/aponeurosis
A
First the Function
- protects structures in the sole of the foot
- supports the longitudinal arches
-gives origin to several plantar muscles

Explain the structure and function of the temporomandibular joint
A
- Synovial joint which has an intracapsular disc,
- allows retraction, protraction, elevation and depression of the mandible and side to side translation,
- capable of fine and forceful movement,
- Muscles that move the joint include the medial and lateral pterygoids, the temproalis and masseter. These are innervated by the same cranial nerve the trigeminal nerve.
