Tell me about yourself.
I just finished my 3 year apprenticeship program as a Baker. But before moving here to Germany, I had solid work experience in the Philippines in a corporate setup. The last company that I have been with was with one of the Big 4 accounting firms Ernst & Young or globally known as EY. I was part of the Code of Excellence team under EY Global Delivery Services for 4 years.
I worked as a Document Specialist and my key responsibility was to make sure that all Business Presentations, Reports, Financial documents strictly adhere to the quality and standards established by EY.
Supporting the Engagement Team by creating Report templates
At EY, I handled day to day requests within the organization (from Executive Assistants to Stakeholders). It includes a lot of collaboration to make sure that all instructions were covered.
I start the day by checking the queue in our Portal where we receive many requests. Prioritizing the urgent to non-urgent ones by assessing and understanding the urgency and impact of the request.
Communicate if there are things that are not clear because its better to be certain than to assume.
Before EY, I also worked as a quality specialist for Integreon for three years. Integreon is one of the leading desktop publishing companies in the Philippines.
My job as a Quality Specialist was to conduct a page-by-page quality check of the business presentations/documents created by Graphic Associates to ensure they were error-free and that they all met our client’s instructions. Communicate with customers if there is any clarification regarding their request. Sends high-quality feedback to graphics associates and conduct refresher training for the new employees.
My experience that I gained throughout my career has honed my attention to detail and process improvement skills.
I also worked as a Data Analyst for companies like Accenture and Manulife.

My strength is being highly adaptable to any situation and detail-oriented

My weaknesses, as a former Quality Specialist, I have a tendency to be extremely detail-oriented, but I manage this by setting clear priorities
Where do you see yourself in five years?
In five years, I see myself growing within think-cell, potentially leading a team of Software Tester, and contributing to more efficient and innovative Software testing processes.
Can you describe a challenging situation and how you handled it?
There was a time I had several projects with deadlines in one week.
I was able to finish all of my work on time by prioritizing things, divided them up and gave each activity my whole attention at once.
Effective time management and organization are essential for successful multi-tasking.
Tell me about a time when you worked as part of a team.
At EY, I collaborated with a team of consultants to create business presentations. I ensured all materials met branding standards and were delivered on time, which helped the team present a cohesive and professional image to clients.
What relevant experience do you have for this position?
I have experience in document management and quality assurance, ensuring high standards and efficiency in all projects. My experience and attention to detail will help me quickly adapt to new systems.
Give an example of a goal you set and how you achieved it.
At Integreon, I set a goal to reduce document processing errors by at least 20%. What I did was I implemented a revised quality checklist and provided refresher course to my colleagues, which resulted in a 25% reduction in errors within three months
Tell me about a time you failed and what you learned from it
I once missed a critical detail in a client report, which led to an error. I learned the importance of double-checking my work and implemented a peer-review system to catch errors before finalizing documents.
How do you handle tight deadlines or high-pressure situations?
remain calm and focused, prioritize tasks based on urgency and impact, and maintain clear communication with my team and stakeholders to ensure deadlines are met without compromising quality
What tools and technologies are you proficient in?
I am proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite for document creation and am confident that my skills will seamlessly transfer to any tools a Software Tester may use to perform assigned tasks.
What would you do if you disagreed with a team member on a project?
I would discuss our perspectives openly, focusing on data and the project’s goals to find common ground or a better solution that aligns with our objectives.
How would you handle a difficult client or customer?
I would listen to their concerns, empathize with their situation, and work with them to find a satisfactory resolution, ensuring they feel heard and valued.
What steps would you take if you were given a task with unclear instructions?
I would seek clarification from the task assigner, break down the task into smaller components, and confirm my understanding before proceeding to ensure alignment with expectations.
If you were asked to complete a task you’ve never done before, how would you go about it?
I would research the task, consult with colleagues or experts, and apply my analytical skills to address it effectively.

Personal wise, my family motivates me every day. I want to be successful and bring them here in Germany because I believe Germany has a lot to offer when it comes to my family’s security and will help me give them a better future.

I initiated a weekly knowledge-sharing session in my previous team, which improved collaboration and helped us stay updated on best practices
How do you balance work and personal life?
I manage my time effectively at work to ensure I can maintain a healthy work-life balance, allowing me to recharge and stay productive.

Something not on my resume is my commitment to making quality time for my wife and kids despite of time zone differences.

What do you know about the role?
At think-cell, Software Tester ensure the proper functioning of new features by testing for faults, logical consistency, and clarity. Maintain and enhance automated test routines, perform final release tests, and often work with new hardware. When errors occur, provide detailed reproductions to aid in problem resolution, requiring clear communication skills. The Software Tester role also involves documenting issues, verifying fixes, and expanding the internal knowledge base.
