How do you diagnose pulmonary edema on a radiograph?
First there will be venous enlargement (if its cardiogenic) (especially seen in the caudal lobes [right caudal = eccentric mitral valve regurg jet] ) you canβt call it Pulmonary edema yet.
Next there will be unstructured interstitial pattern with hilar to caudo-dorsal distribution. As the edema gets worse it will progress to an alveolar pattern.
(cats have more random distribution. unstructured interstitial pattern occurs before alveolar. Cats have enlarged pulmonary arteries and veins.)
Pulmonary Edema is indicative of?
Left Heart Failure
