Amazon Rainforest
Deforestation, longer dry season, and an increase in temperature are the problems the amazon rainforest is experiencing. Some of the Amazon Rainforest’s lands could turn into savannah and grassland. This could lead to a significant loss of biodiversity.
Boreal Forest
Boreal forests in Canada, Russia, and parts of the uppermost Northern Hemisphere are threatened by forest fires, diseases, and increased water or heat stress. This could lead to almost half of Boreal forests changing into open woodlands or grasslands. Due to the loss of forests that absorb carbon, the carbon balance is affected negatively.
Ice-free Greenland
The warming of the arctic has affected Greenland’s ice loss. This may impact the sea levels by raising it up to 20 feet. This sea-level rise has already threatened the 10 largest cities in the world.
