Q

example of each type of epithelial cells shape

A

simple squamous: lining of blood capillaries
simple cuboidal: surface of ovaries, walls of renal tubules
simple columnar: lining of the digestive tract (ie. stomach)
stratified squamous: Skin/ epidermis
stratified cuboidal: excretory ducts of sweat glands
stratified columnar: pharynx
pseudostratified squamous: trachea, upper respiratory tract
pseudostratified cuboidal: trachea, upper respiratory tract (have cilia and mucous)
pseudostratified columnar: trachea lining and other respiratory tracts

Q

examples of CT Proper, loose connective tissue subtypes and location

A
  • Aeriolar CT, under the epithelial tissue in areas with ducts, ie under the dermis of the skin.
  • Adipose CT, under the skin as subcutaneous fat, surrounding the kidneys.
  • Reticular CT, lymph nodes, bone marrow
