Define proactive Transfer?
When a previously learnt skill influences a skill currently being learned.
Can be positive or negative.
Example of proactive transfer?
The previously learned skill of throwing a cricket ball may help the currently learned skill of throwing a javelin.
What is Retroactive Transfer?
When a skill currently being learned influences a skill already learned.
Can be positive or negative.
Example of Retroactive Transfer?
The current skill of dribbling in basketball may hinder previously learned skill of footwork in netball.
What is Bilateral transfer?
When a skill is transferred from one side of the body the other.
Can be positive or negative.
Example of bilateral?
Passing the ball in football with the right foot and transferring it to the left foot
