What is a conservatorship?
A trust-like arrangement where a guardian of property is renamed as conservator with more flexible powers. Court appointment/supervision still required, but a conservator has more flexible powers than a guardian. Terminates when the minor reaches the age of majority or dies.

What is the role of a custodian under the UTMA?
A person holding property for the benefit of a minor, subject to fiduciary duties. not under the supervison of the court, no accounting required
