Translation Flashcards

1
Q

Translation steps

A
  1. mRNA leaves nucleus and attaches to small subunit of ribosome at the start codons
  2. tRNA molecule w complementary anticodon goes opposite mRNA and is held in place by ribosome
  3. Two amino acids from tRNA will be joined via peptide bonds
  4. Ribosome will move along mRNA to the next codon and another complementary tRNA will attach
  5. Continue until stop codon where ribosome detaches
