First objective of BP treatment should be
Less than 140/90
If treatment is tolerated BP values should be targeted to
130/80
In patients <65 on BP meds SBP target should be
120-129 in most patients
All patients over 65, receiving BP drugs, SBP should be
130 -139
All hypertensive patients should have a target for DBP
<80
What does an ecg monitor
Heart rhythm
What does a holder monitor do
Tracks heart rhythm by ecg
Classify obes class 1
30 to 34.9
Classify obese class 2
35 to 39.9
Classify obese class 3
> or equal to 40
What is defined as iron deficiency in symptomatic HF and EF less than 50%?
Serum ferritin less than 100
Or
Serum ferritin 100 to 299 and Trans Sat less than 20%
Treat with iv iron ferrinject
How long after ferrinject do we check bloods
10 weeks
What us a bubble study?
Contrast echo.
Usually done in conjunction with echo.
Allows assessment of blood flow through the heart.q
What is a TOE
The probe is about as wide as an index finger and goes in the mouth, down the throat and into the oesophagus. The probe produces clearer and more accurate echo pictures than those taken from the front of the chest.
What is in Active iron for women
17 mg iron 20 micro Vit D in 2 tablets.
Target HbA1c in diabetic patients
Less than 53
What HbA1c is considered diabetic
More than or equal to 48 mmol/l
What are GTT goals
Fasting less than 7
2 hour pp less than 11
Random more than 11 and symptoms is diabetes
Avoid what fruit with warfarin
Grapefruit, grapefruit juice, mango and Seville oranges
What does telemetry do
Monitors ecg, RR and SpO2 remotely

If renal function not great
