- Reduces fever. The TE channel belongs to fire and many points are indicated for febrile diseases.
- Benefits the ears: The TE channel encircles or enters the ear and is indicated by tinnitus and deafness
- Clears heat: Clears heat from the eyes esp. Wind Heat
- Soothes the heart and calms the spirit
- Treats headache: Shaoyang channel traverses the temples and side of the head.
- Harmonises the three jiao.
