Strengths AO3

A

S- ostregard; found that boy with oxygen deprivation lost episodic memory only, shows there is 2 separate stores- credible explanation of memory
OTOH- study of a 10yr old boy, case study; findings lack generalisability
U- allows us to understand why those with dementia can use cues to retrieve their semantic memories but explains how they have lost their episodic memories- credible explanation of memories
OTOH- each person with dementia is different

Q

Weaknesses AO3

A

C- Squrie and zola; conducted a brain scan- suggested there is not 2 separate stores- brain scans are objective so supports episodic and semantic are one store
O- msm; includes STM,LTM including the duration, encoding and capacity- more credible explanation of memory
OTOH- robins- msm is to simplistic
