Inspirational motivation; articulate appealing abstract vision of the future

Intellectual stimulation; Question old assumptions/beliefs; stimulate new ways of doing things

Individualized consideration;’ consider individual needs, actively listen and advise.

A

Leaders show followers how they can meet goals. Social contracts. 3 types;

  1. Contingent; setting up transaction, establish rewards
  2. Management by exception - active: Monitor behaviour and anticipate problems, correcting actions
  3. Management by exception - passive; act when problems occur, put out the fire

Laissez Faire and ethical leadership

A

LF: Lowest type, leaders provide little guidence

Ethical; Leader as moral manager, demonstrates normatively appropriate conduct through personal actions etc. Promotes two-way communication, reinforcement and is positively ass with trust in leader. (Based on social-cognitive theory)
