what is phrenology
phernology is the belief that different parts of the brain control different behaviours and if you use some parts more then other it would be bigger. often people would feel others skulls to find out what type of person they were.
what is brain ablation
brain ablation is the method of disabling, destroying or removing a section of the brain to see what effect it has on the person.
what is electrical stimulation of the brain (ESB)
it is the method of sending an electrical pulse through curtain parts of the brain to see what happened.
what is split brain studies
It is an operation that cut the corpus callosum, this was used in cases of extreme epilepsy.
What effect did this have.
The corpus callosum is the connecting nerve tissue between the two hemispheres so when a image flashed on the left side of the brain the patient could say what it was but could draw it, when an image was flashed on the right side they would say what it was.

What does the left hemisphere specialise in
Verbal tasks, analytical tasks, receive and process sensory messages from the right side of the body, recognise words when reading, writing and speaking and man others.
What does the right hemisphere specialise in
non-verbal functions, receives sensory information from the left side of the body, controls voluntary movement of the left side of the body, identifies faces, Visual imagery creative thinking and many others.
