Acculturation
Exchange of ideas between different cultures, as a result it changes both cultures
Anthropology
Is the study of human behavior, social and cultural development and physical behavior.
Cognitive consistency
To seek stimuli that are consistent to their beliefs and attitudes and limit exposure to those that are inconsistent
Cognitive dissonance
The phase of having inconsistent thoughts and beliefs
Collectivist society
A society where they work as a group and focus on the groups needs instead of individual peoples needs and tasks

Those who have more authority in society
Confirmation Bias
When people side with thoughts that align with their own beliefs and perceptions on an issue regardless if its wrong or right
Diffusion
The spread of a cultural trait through a society from social contact
Ethnocentrism
The thought of one culture or nation being superior to all other cultures
Hypothesis
An assumption made from known facts about the investigation or study
Individualist society
A society where people have more freedom and more personal rights, this also increases their societies competition.

They analyse how an event effects a larger portion of society

The study of small groups and their community

A set of expectations that people in a society follow, these expectations create acceptable behaviour

Information shared in words or actions
Ex. During the study they were wearing green shirts
Quantitative data
Information that is shared numerically
Ex. During the study they slept 10 hours

Changes in the beliefs and practices in a society

Social paradigm shift
When new beliefs and ideals are presented, these ideals and beliefs are very relatable to the individual. It changes the individuals perception of the world

The rules and regulations in place to maintain the social structures in a society
