44

45
Controlled variables
Things we hold constant
46
Experimental control
Used as a baseline to compare results
47
Hypothesis
Prediction of what we think will happen
48
Question
What we are trying to find out
49
Describe how water moves through a sponge, how they capture and digest food, and which structures are involved?
The collar cells have flagellum that with around and create a current. The pore cells suck the water up into the collar cells. The collar has mucus which traps the food. The food gets digested through amoebocytes and the excess food and water gets put back in the ocean through the osculum
50
List the classes of the sponges and how they are classified
Class calcaria-calcium Hexactinellida-glass Demospongia-spongin
51
Write the classification system from the largest to smallest
``` Kingdom phylum class order family genus species ```
52
Phylogeny
Relationship of living things to each other
53
Malaria
Chills, fever, and sweating which occur after being bitten by Mosquitos carrying parasites
54
West Nile virus
Disease spread by Mosquitos which can cause fevers and mild headaches
55
Yellow Fever
Causes headaches and nausea and is spread through Mosquitos. Makes skin and eyes a yellow color
