unit 1 Flashcards
(9 cards)
if you are passed by a sports car on a highway (both going a constant speed) explain position, velocity,a dn acceleration
acceleration = 0 (constant speeed)
velocity = cports car is faster
position (same)
how to find the velocity on and accelration curve
integrate
finding position on a velocity curve

a crate is pushed from rest on a rope with a varying force to a point where it is above the ground. what is the work on the system
the system starts at rest and ends at rest so the net work is 0
when a crate is pushed upwards pivoting like a pendulum on a rope, how much work does the rope do on the system,
the rope applies force constantly in the direction perpendicular to the motion so the net work is 0
an archer is at rest and then shoots. he moves back, what net is increased for the system
the net kinetic energy increases for the system, as nothing was moving but now it was.
a cart is rolling on a hilly land. at t1 the cart is at h0 later at t2 v is increased. thusly
h2 must be lower than h0
you drop a bowl on a carpet and it doesn’t break but you drop the same bowl on concrete and it breaks what is different
the time length of the colision
you drop a ball and it falls to the ground. the work done by gravity is
positive because it is int eh direction of motion
