What is Adultery?
Voluntary sexual intercourse between a married person and a person who is not their spouse.
Example- The Bible teaches ‘Thou shall not commit adultery’
What is Divorce?
To legally end a marriage
Example- Divorce is never allowed in the Catholic church
What is Cohabitation?
To live together in a sexual relationship without being married or in a civil partnership
Example- Cohabitation is not allowed in the Catholic church
What is Commitment?
A sense of dedication and obligation to someone or something
Example- Marriage is committing yourself to a person for life
What is Contraception?
Methods used to prevent a women from becoming pregnant during or following sexual intercourse
Example- Condom, the pill
What is Gender Equality?
People of all genders enjoying the same rights and opportunities in all aspects of their lives
Example- ‘We are all one in Christ’
What is Responsibilities?
Actions/ duties you are expected to carry out
Example- A parent is responsible for looking after their child
What is Roles?
Position, status or function of a person in society, as well as the characteristics and social behavior expected of them
Example- Parents should have equal roles in looking after the family
