2
Q

Independent Variable

A

Do you think that we purposely change in an experiment. There should only be one of these and a proper experiment. Everything else should remain the same for good results.

3
Q

Dependent Variable

A

The thing that is affected by the independent variable. Usually this is the result of the experiment, the thing we measure as we collect the observations.

Q

Electricity

A

Something used to power some devices. These devices need a battery or cord (plugging into an electrical socket) to work.

Evidence

A

Facts, observations, or data; can also use reasoning in place of evidence.

Q

System

A

A collection of objects that interact and right/or influence one another. These objects Often work together to answer a question or solve a problem. Systems are often represented by models, which use boundaries, inputs, and outputs to describe what is and is not part of the system (e.g., the electric generator can be considered a system).

7
Q

Inputs

A

Anything that goes into the system from outside it’s boundary (e.g., energy supplied by ones hand to turn the nail and the magnets in the electric generator).

Q

Outputs

A

Anything that crosses the boundary to leave the system (e.g., light energy produced by the bulb and powered by the electric generator).

Q

Models

A

Simplified representations of systems, objects, ideas, processes, and right/or phenomenon that helps scientist described, explain, and make predictions. All models have a limitation and built in accuracies a scientist need to be aware of of.
