What was the purpose of “common sense?”
Advocate for independence from Britain
What was the purpose of the elastic clause?
Gives Congress the power to make laws necessary for caring out, it’s enumerated powers.
Why does the alien and sedition act exist?
Laws that made it more difficult for aliens to become citizens
allowed the president greater latitude in the deporting or imprisoning noncitizens
Constricted freedom of speech by making it illegal to other or false statements about the government
How does the regulators movement in shay’s rebellion compare to each other? 
Both went through a series of battles against colonial milita both called themselves regulators shay got it from the regulator movement
What is the regulators movement?
Occurred because the role of government was charging the colonist excessive fees
What is Shays rebellion?
Occurred because of the government’s economic policies (taxes and debt collection).
What is the whiskey rebellion?
Response to the excise tax
What is the phrase “no taxation without representation” talking about?
The phrases referring to the colonist outrage against the British government because they were taxing them. The colonist did not want to be forced to pay taxes because they had no representation in government.
What did the treaty of Paris of 1763 do?
This treaty ended the French and Indian war/7 years war. It gave all of France’s territory to Britain, Canada, Spanish Florida, and most land east of Mississippi.
What did the treaty of Paris of 1783 do?
Officially ended the American revolutionary war and recognize the United States as an independent nation, as well as great US land from the Appalachian mountains to the Mississippi river in from Canada to Spanish Florida. We also had to pay back all day to British prior to the war.

 Said that for every five slaves, it would count of three people for taxation and representation purposes

Murberry v. Madison is a landmark US Supreme Court case. It is important because it created the principle of judicial review.
