Chalice - blood of Christ .
Patin - where larger host is used during Mass.
Ciborium - where hosts are kept during communism and then stored in the tabernacle.

Box-like container for corpses, used today.
Popes are buried in them.
Reminder of the life of deceased and saints - used to aid prayer.

Used in home and in churches.
Used to evangelise as it can be shown publicly.
Can engage people in discussing how the artwork is done.
Used privately when Catholics can use it as a form of devotion and prayer.
Significance of paintings
Can express belief, love and glory of God.
Enhances one’s faith - think deeper into stories that you are depicting.
Example: Rembrandt’s Prodigal Son
Significance of icons
Done as a form of prayer and reflection.
Depict important individuals of the faith.
Significance of frescos
Done in churches to show the glory and greatness of God.
Done as a way of expressing faith in God to many.
Example: Michael Angelo’s Sistine Chapel
