What is lava?

What is volcanic gas?
Mainly steam and carbon dioxide, plus some sulphur dioxide and other gases. It smells of rotten eggs. It can suffocate you.
What is an igneous rock?
Lava that has been cooled and then hardened.
What is the most common igneous rock?
Basalt.
What is a pumice?
Gassy lava that explodes and forms a light porous rock.
What can volcanic gas do?
Cause acid rain and kills trees and plants over a wide area.
