What are paranasal sinuses?
Air-filled cavities, lined with mucous membrane and located in the bones of the skull.
What is anoxia?
Absence of oxygen from body tissues & organs despite adequate blood flow.
What is hypoxia?
Deficient oxygen levels in body tissues & organs (less severe than anoxia).
What is pharyngitis?
Inflammation of the pharynx (sore throat).
What is aphonia?
Loss of the ability of the larynx to produce normal speech sounds.
What is dysphonia?
Difficulty speaking.
What is pleurisy?

What is a spirometer?
Recording device that measures the amount of air inhaled or exhaled.
What is hemothorax?
Collection of blood in the pleural cavity.
What is pneumothorax?
Accumulation of air in the pleural space resulting in pressure imbalance causing lung to fully or partially collapse.
What is pyothorax?
Presence of pus in the pleural cavity between the layers of the pleural membrane.
What is tracheostomy?
Surgical creation of a stoma into the trachea to facilitate a tube for breathing.
