Propanolol contraindications
Bradycardia and 2nd and 3rd Heartblock
Propanolol Common adverse effects
Sexual Disfunction
Propanolol Teaching
Start low go slow
Discontinue slow to prevent rebound tachy

Varapamil teaching
Monitor BP and cardiac
Take pulse, hold if too low of irregular
report wt gain
Increase fluid and fiber (prevent constipation)
Quinidine (Quinora) use
Atrial arrhythmia : PAC, atrial tachy, atrial flutter, a fib, VT, VF
Quinidine (Quinora) Serious adverse effects
Cariotoxicity: increased PR and QT intevals, Vtach, asystole, atriel embolism, PVCs, complete heart block.
Quinidine (Quinora) Long term use
Lupus like syndrome
Quinidine (Quinora) Teaching
Monitor EKG for prolonged PR and QT intervals
Labs: CBC, LFTs and a metabolic panal (potassium)
Notify dr is QRS complex increases 25%
