A

A participle is an adjective formed from a verb (verbal adjective). the two participles are the present participle and the past participle.

Ex. 1 Present Participle:

The conquering Gauls stormed the gates of Rome.

Ex. 2 Past Participle:

The conquered Gauls surrendered to Caesar.
