Unit4 PSA Suite - Introduction

Managing a professional services organization in today’s ever-changing world isn’t easy. Especially with time and talent being limited, it can be challenging to match the right people to the right project. Factor in availability and people working from home, it can get complex pretty quick. Wouldn’t it be better if your team can just focus on what your clients need you to do instead of being distracted from trying to juggle all of these moving parts?
What I’m going to be presenting to you today is our Practice Management solution which is built on Microsoft technologies. I will then go into a live demo of the solution to show you how it actually works and how practice management sits within the D365 platform as well as how easy and standardized the solution actually is.

Smart Cloud Collaboration

A

Let me start off with the concept and vision of our Unit4 PSA suite. What makes our solution work is our smart collaboration because our PSA suite is a single solution that is embedded into the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement solution, on the Microsoft Power platform, and together, it’s all one solution that manages the whole process from funnel to cash. So you have quality relationship management, marketing, and the full sales and customer engagement components as well because we leverage all those components of D365 CRM that combines full sales cycle management with PSA.
Once you win an opportunity and you actually start your project, sales hands over integrated customer data to the Unit 4 PSA component, which manages all the various aspects of your project.
It has a full time and expense component as well as full invoicing capabilities.
Our solution is finance solution independent, which means we have the ability to integrate into any other financial solution that you are using so when you look at our solution, the discussion shouldn’t really be around replacing the actual financial component but more of how we can actually fix the operational and project components within your organization.
We also have a human capital management component within the solution as well. That’s obviously very important when you need to understand the skills and competencies of your staff members.
You will need to understand how resources are utilized and their routines, to be able to maximize profitability within the organization.
So it’s a complete solution that’s all built within D365 and we refer to our solution as being standardized and templatized, with pre-built packages from a solutions point of view across the board, which is there to simplify the work process within the organization and within your practice management and it’s built on the Power platform, which is an innovative and modern solution by MS, and it’s there to supply you with cutting edge technology and the latest digital framework for your business applications.
You have the ability to leverage the rest of Microsoft’s Azure capabilities as well as a full integration into Microsoft Office 365 productivity tools, so it’s all about leveraging your current investments and combining them in the Microsoft platform. There’s a full integration into Power BI, so if you’re looking for a cross organizational reporting structure or business intelligence across your organization, you can leverage that across all the applications so you can start to drill down into the actual data of your organization, and instead of having stagnant data, your data now becomes actionable. You can also leverage Microsoft Flow and if you need further extensions of the solution, there’s Microsoft Power Apps, which gives you internal capabilities to start looking at those customizable applications for organizations.
So in essence, our solution is modern, it’s intelligent, it’s adaptable, and it’s a full Microsoft cloud solution so you have the ability to access the application and your company data anytime and anywhere and off any device so as long as your device has a browser and internet access, you can access your information and actually do your work

The PSA App that is ERP Independent

A

As I mentioned earlier, we’re ERP independent and we’re built on Dynamics CRM so we’re focused on the front-end operational components within an organization. So in other words, we look at
The professional service aspect of an organization where money is being made
The time and expense components of your fee earners, your project managers
You selling time and expertise
And that is where the solution actually sits.
So it’s front-end focus deals with all those daily operational components, which are relevant within professional organizations from projects to contracts to WBS, time and expense, resource utilizations, and approvals.
Now there is an integration to financial solutions and the reason why we deal with the operational components within professional organizations is that the financial side is really just the transactional side and what we’ve found, with over 20 years of experience within the professional service space, is that 90% of employees actually sit in the operational component and about 10% sit within the actual transactional component area.
By sitting on the Power platform, you have business intelligence and built-in dashboards that can be extended across the organization with Power BI

A

When I mentioned earlier in my first slide when I was talking about the Smart Cloud Collaboration, I referred to our solution being standardized and templatized. Our focus is on professional services organizations but we’ve also taken it one step further and actually templatized our solution for the four sub-verticals, which you see in front of you there.
So we have a templatized solution for financial services, for IT services, which are actually using themselves to manage their projects, which they deliver and are able to report on successfully
We have solutions for engineering consultants as well as for management consultants so it’s a full templatized solution with it’s out the box predefined WBS and predefined workflow processes which means that when you decide to go for a new project management solution, if you see what you like and also like what you see and want to get up and running really quickly, know that our solution is pre-defined and pre-built for you, which is really relevant nowadays
