Fluid pressure
Pressure (Pa) = Density (kg/ m^3) x height (m) x acceleration due to gravity (m/s^2)
Pascals principle
Pascal’s Principle states that when pressure is applied to a confined fluid, the increase in pressure is transmitted equally and undiminished in all directions throughout the fluid and to the walls of its container.
Pascals principle formula, and what is echanical advantage of the system?
Upward buoyant force formula
- The upward buoyant force on a submerged body is the same as the weight of the fluid that it displaces
- Volume of the displaced fluid multiplied into the density of the fluid is the mass of fluid that is displaced.
- Mass times gravity is the weight of the fluid.
- Thus, this formula proves that the buoyant force is the weight of the fluid displaced.
Archimedes principle
The upward buoyant force on a submerged body is the same as the weight of the fluid that it displaces
