Unrequited love - main points
Whoso- the woman’s perspective of love is fulfilling societal expectations similarly in Gatsby, Daisy believes her love is fulfilled by marrying Tom to fulfil her societal expectations had a child for this reason to. Both men suffer unrequited love causing pain , death of Gatsby Wyatt’s exhaustion.
The flea - both Gatsby and the flea have men who define love as lust and women who hold their love to a role, emotional and caring level. ,dads to distraught for the women with the flea woman angrily heartbroken, and myrtle dying just to see her lover Tom.
Both poems - both men obsess to fulfil their definition of love but this is hindered by the woman’s rejection to it causing heartbreak.
