What is urethral prolapse?
A
A rare condition of protrusion of the distal urethra through the distal meatus

A
Occurs is prepubertal girls & post menopausal women, usually after UTI

A
Etiology unclear
- possibly due to straining, poor hygiene, decr in estrogen

A
- topical estrogen cream & Sitz baths
- Surg if above unsuccessful

A
area of scarring or fibrosis that causes concentric narrowing of the urethra, impeding the flow of urine
