Using quadrats and transects Flashcards

Q

How do you use a quadrat?

A
  1. Place a 1m^2 quadrat on the ground at a random point
  2. Count all the organisms within the quadrat
  3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 as much as possible
  4. work out the mean number of organisms per quadrat
  5. Then repeat steps 1-4 and compare the two means
