Bronchoalveolar lavage
- Diagnostic method for pathogenic infections in the lower airways

Bronchoscope is passed through airway, fluid is then passed then collected for investigations

Indications= diagnosis in immunocompromised

  • Pneumonia in the ventilated
  • ARDS
