Why do we perceive the movement of dot the same in the “double drift” illusory?
A
Each animation produces a different pattern of activation in the visual cortex(the visual system thinks differently), the patterns of activation in the frontal lobes of the participants’ brain were very similar.

the vision is a complex system that involves around 30 areas of the brain, and there are other illusions that do seem to fool the visual cortex.
