Ventilation
How much air is breathes in or out in one minute.
Tidal volume (TV)
how much air is inspired and expired in one minute.
Respiratory Rate (RR)
the number of breaths taken in one minute.
Diffusion
The movement of molecules from an area of higher concentration to one of lower concentration.
Cardiac output
the amount of blood pumped out of the blood in one minute
Stroke Volume (SV)
the amount of blood ejected by the left ventricle per minute
Heart Rate (HR)
the number of time the heart beats in one minute
Arteriovenous oxygen difference (a-VO2 diff)
difference in oxygen concentration in the arterioles compared with the venules.
Lactate Inflection point (LIP)
the highest intensity where the lactate production is equal to lactate removal
Interplay
a situation in which all three energy systems contribute to ATP production, with one system being the major ATP producer at any time.
VO2 Maximum
the maximum amount of oxygen that can be taken up, transported and utilize per minute
Steady State
when the body is able to supply sufficient oxygen to meet oxygen demands
Passive Recovery
a recovery that typically involves complete rest or exercise at a slow walking pace
Venous Pooling
accumulation o f the blood in a part of the body
