IDIOMS/EXPRESSIONS: zero tolerance
If something is given zero tolerance, it won’t be accepted even once.
Ex: Because of the school’s zero-tolerance policy, our boy was expelled for smoking just one cigarette.
PHRASAL VERB: put in (2)
to install a large piece of equipment into a room, a home or a building
For example:
have (something) put in: I’ve just had a solar heating system put in, and it works perfectly.
put in (something): If you put in a $10,000 swimming pool, the property’s value will increase by about $30,000.
put (something) in: How much would it cost to put a new kitchen in?
SLANG: veggie
a vegetable
Ex: The meal was OK but we would’ve liked more veggies with the meat.
SAYING: Death is a remedy for all ills
Possible interpretation:
When we die, all our problems are solved.
Note: death (noun) = the act of dying; the end of life | remedy (noun) = cure; solution | ills (noun) = problems; misfortunes
