A
- plastic gets caught in animals digestive systems and on their bodies
- plastics can also secrete toxic chemicals into the water altering the PH

- chemicals may cause mutations or act as hormones
- altered PH can cause acid rain and acidic lakes
- altered ph also causes animals and plants to die as they no longer have the optimum conditions for enzyme activity
