Q

What is carbonation

A

A type of chemical weathering when the rain gets affected by CO2, and it turns to acidic rain then dissolves to limestone.

9
Q

How does limestone pavement form

A

When rain falls on limestone rock , flows into the tiny joints on the surface, then it dissolves the edges of joints by carbonation.

17
Q

A

When stalagmites and stalactites meet

18
Q

What is a geo park

A

Area that promotes for protection, use of geology in sustainable way and promotes economic wellbeing of people

19
Q

What is an agent

A

Cause of weathering and erosion.

20
Q

Give a type of example for a karst landscape in Ireland

A

Burren, Co. Clare.

21
Q

What is onion weathering

A

The great heat of sun makes the outer layer of the rock hear and expand, at night, the rock cools down, eventually it is repeated heating and cooling making the rock laters crack off in slices, this happens in deserts. Scree also falls.
