- qualitative, the world is made up of multiple overlapping realities, produces in depth understanding of these realities and how they are constructed, researchers are immersed in settings, subjective process
Positivist
Quantitative, the world is made up of observable, measurable facts, uncovers facts and discern laws that govern cause and effect by controlling variables, explain and predict, objective, unbiased and logical
