Examples of hot foods?
Ginger, cinnamon, lamb, chilli peppers
Hot foods do what?
Increase yang, speed up Qi, activate, warm, disperse, move upward and outward, warm the bowels and viscera, eliminate external and internal cold, mobilize defensive Qi.
Warm foods do what?
Strengthen yang and Qi, warm the body, bowels and viscera, warm and strengthen the middle burner
Examples of Warm foods?
Fennel, Chicken, Beef, Oats
Neutral foods do what?
Build up Qi and Body Fluids, Stabalize and harmonize the body.
Examples of Neutral Foods?
Honey, Rice, Potatoes
Cool foods do what?
Supplement body fluids (jin ye), and blood (xue), slow down Qi, clear heat.
Examples of cool foods?
Yoghurt, soy milk, wheat
Cold foods do what?
create cold, cool internal heat and have a calming effect on the Shen.
