- Temporary Excitement and relief
- Thinking that using the web for answers will actually help

What is the Zombie Mode?
When we switch into a mode of routine where we don’t really think. Such as getting to work
How is info processed once chunked?
When chunked, our brain doesn’t need to remember every little detail in order to execute
Why is chunking related to habits?
Like habits, chunking condenses info and allows us to save mental energy
What are the 4 parts that make up habits?
- Cue
- Routine
- Reward
- Belief
What is a cue?
The trigger that initiates Zombie Mode
What is a Routine?
The habitual response after the cue.
AKA Zombie mode is activated
What is a Reward?
Develops a habit through the feeling of pleasure
What is a Belief?
How much we believe in a habit. In order for one to change a habit, got to believe in it.
What is the importance of the reward?
We are able to develop stronger habits through rewarding ourselves at the end. The pleasure of the reward will allow one to continue to do it.
Can be a double edged sword, as this works for procrastination
What is a process?
Actions and habits we use to achieve the product
What is a product?
The end result
How do we harness our inner Zombies to help us?
Change / Override parts of our habits
What is the trick to overriding habits?
Changing the reaction to a cue.
What are two ways to minimize damage of procrastination?
- Turn on phone or keep away from internet.
- Use the pomodoro method
