Week 4 highlights Flashcards
Case-Control Studies: Confounder adjustment: Define matching
process of making the cases and controls similar (or balanced) with regard to this confounding factor so that there will be enough information in the analysis to adequately control for the factor
Common biases can be classified into three nonmutually exclusive types, which are what?
1) confounding 2) selection bias and 3) information bias
For a factor to be a confounder, it needs to be what 3 things?
1) associated with the exposure 2) a risk factor for the outcome in the unexposed group in the base population and 3) not in the same causal pathway whereby the exposure affects the outcome
Cross-sectional studies: a _____% response rate is considered a good benchmark in determining adequate survey response
60%
Time-Series Analysis: What model should you use?
Linear regression
