week 7 Flashcards
(7 cards)
how are antibodies generated?
foreign molecules, viruses, and/or bacteria enter body. when it binds to an antibody that fits it, the B cell that carries that specific antibody makes more of it
what primary and secondary antibodies are we using
primary: mouse antiHA, mouse antiV5, mouse antitubulin. monoclonal
secondary: GOAT antimouse. polyclonal
monoclonal vs polyclonal antibodies
monoclonal: binds to 1 antigen
polyclonal: antibodies are made from multile B cells.
horseradish peroxidase
enzyme that binds to secondary antibody (goat antimouse).
the antigens are…
SmoHA, CasV5
What is normalized tubulin and Smo?
the condition with the highest tubulin density is 1, and everything else is relative to that.
normalized smo= smo density in a condition/normalized tubulin of that condition
true or false: inactive caspase is not observed in imaging.
false. both inactive and active are observed bc they’re both tagged with V5. but active form is shorter so it will be lower.
