what are the key characteristics of families with young children (life cycle)
key emotional process: accepting new members into the system
developmental tasks: adjustment of couple systems
collaboration of child rearing and financial tasks
realignment of relationships (parenting to grandparenting, etc)
what are the two main integrated children’s services (ICS) in MB
Home care (WRHA: this is mainly in Winnipeg
- there is a provincial responsibility to contact them with discharge planning
Children’s disability services (MB department of families)
- this is a provincial program in all 7 regions
- in Winnipeg delivered through 6 community areas
what is a LSC
lead service coordinator
assigned to work with the family to assist and support them in coordinating services for their family
will either be a nurse from WRHA or social worker from CdS
(But will have a buddy from the other discipline for each child on their caseload)
