throat, swollen tonsils, runny nose w/ yellow, sl. thirst, T: Red on front or
sides w/ thin white coat, P: Fl. Rapid
Wind Heat
fever, averse to cold, HA, sweating, feeling of
heaviness, uncomfortable sense in epigastrium, irritability, thirst, T: Red
in front or sides w/ white sticky coat, P: Soggy & Rapid
Summer Heat
fever that is worse in the afternoon, averse to cold, HA,
swollen glands, body that is hot to the touch, feeling of heaviness,
feeling of oppression in epigastrium, sticky taste, thirst w/o desire T:
sticky white coat, P: Soggy
Damp Heat
(wind damp and summer heat)
fever, sl. averse to cold, sore throat, sl. sweat, dry skin, nose,
mouth and throat, dry cough, T: dry with thin white coat, P: Fl. Rapid
Dry Heat
Qi Level
more intense, affects the Mind, dries things up & is deeper

High fever, feeling of heat, thirst, sweating
Qi level
high fever that is higher in the afternoon, constipation, dry
stools, burnin in the anus, abd. fullness and pain, irritability, delirium, T: Red w
thick, Yellow, dry coat, P: Deep-Full-Rapid
Intestines dry heat
alternating hot and cold feeling w/ prevalence of heat, bitter taste, thirst, dry throat, hypochondrial pain, nausea, feeling of fullness in epigastrium, T: Red w/ unilateral sticky Yellow coat, P: Wiry-Rapid
GB Heat
continuous fever that decreases after sweating but soon increases again, feeling of heaviness in the body and head, feeling of
oppression in the chest and epigastrium, nausea, loose stools, T: Red w/ sticky Yellow coat, P: Soggy-Rapid

Ying Level
deeper heat injures the Yin
obstructs the Mind and PC
and creates fever at night
