What are major trends in US Demographics
-aging- boomer gen aging out of workplace, need for HC increases, more end of life care
-higher numbers of ethnic and racial minorities (all minorities together outnumber white)
-more gender/education levels by age groups: more women in higher education (seeking degrees)
How do demographics affect the HC industry?
More diverse overall (not HC) workforce and patient population, more services needed for aging/geriatric, lack of younger/diverse entering HC professions (not willing to take on debt/cost of education/degrees), lack of women, LGBTQ+, diff ethnicities.
What are unique challenges facing different groups of people?
Young- don’t want to take on debt of HC education/degrees
