Why was there Threat from the Left Wing and Right Wing about the Weimar Republic?

A

The Republic received violent threats from the left wing who were known as sparticists, they wanted Germany to be ruled by workers, councils or soviets, The left wing wanted a communist Revolution

Threat from the right wing was from people hoping for a return from the Kaiser and they believed that men such as Ebert had stabbed Germany in the back.

Right Wing didn like Ebert because he was to blame for the Treaty of Versalles, he had no choice to sign it.

A

Economy: Dawes Plan: Reparations were spread over a longer period
USA gave Germany 800 million marks
The government was even able to increase welfare benefits and wages for state employees
Rentenmark - it stopped hyper inflation

The economic boom meant that the US loan could be called in at short notice which would cause ruin in germany
Economic boom also increased inequality
Pheasant farmers and middle class was not earning money
