Q

What are the two memory items of the recall schema

A

1) knowledge of initial conditions, eg) where am I, how much space do I have, does the ball carrier have any previous experiences or been in the sitch before
2) knowledge of response specification, eg what are my possible responses and what do I need to do, used information for the environment to asses available options

Q

What are the two memory items of the recognition schema

A

1) knowledge of sensory consequences
How the movement should feel, referred to as feeling the tone eg, how hard u should pass the ball and what the pass should feel like

Q

Implications for coaching when using schema

A
  • varied practice conditions eg 4v3 encourages player to continuinally adapt response
  • offer feedback to performer, what motor programmes should be adjusted
  • realistic training that can be easily transferred to the real games
  • teach fundamentals to ensure skill is fully learnt before applying to a varied sitch
